A Brazilian tenor of Spanish descent, Etor Rivero was born in São Paulo, Brazil.  From 1989 to 1996 he attended the Music Conservatory Ars et Scientia do Brasil obtaining qualifications in classical guitar and music theory.

During this time, he was introduced to Dr. Maria Vassileva, who would become one of his most important mentors.  Dr. Vassileva (DMA, ASTA with NSOA - Higher Education, ID# 21820 - USA) was the very first teacher to encourage him to take voice lessons.

Afterwards, he became a regular student of Dr. Martha Herr (DMA, USA).  She developed his vocal technique and introduced him to the world of chamber music.  Rivero continues as a student of Dr. Herr to the present.

Rivero has taken part in most of the important Brazilian music festivals, including the 22nd Festival de Música de Londrina and the 34th Festival de Inverno de Campos do Jordão.  He has also entered vocal contests such as I Vocal Contest Zola Amaro in Pelotas and Vocal Contest Amália Conde in Rio de Janeiro.

In two seasons of the opera studio of Teatro São Pedro he studied and performed roles as the Duke (Rigoletto, G. Verdi) and Oberon (Oberon, C. M. von Weber).

He interpreted the title role in the opera Romeo and Juliet in the Amazon, with  performances in Manaus and Parintins.

Since 1999, he has sung as the soloist in Camerata Vassileva (http://www.genetica.com.br/cvassileva), and has performed voice and piano recitals, including in his repertoire composers as G. Verdi, G. Puccini, G. Donizetti, J. Massenet, C. Gounod, F. P. Tosti, C. Gomes, F. Schubert, H. Villa-Lobos, A. Rebelo, W. Henrique, M. Castelnuovo-Tedesco, G. F. Haendel and J. S. Bach.

In 2001 the Center for Degree Studies of Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA, conferred on him the degree of Associate in Specialized Business, with a major in Business Management.

He is the co-founder and manager, in partnership with Dr. Maria Vassileva, of the Music School Musikalina (http://www.genetica.com.br/musikalina) in São Paulo.  The school was founded in 1998.
